Pre-war theaters such as the Cheung Chau Theater are among the oldest preserved buildings of the 1930s. It was built at the same time as the Yau Ma Tei Theater and is also classified as a Grade III historic building. Its location at the center of Cheung Chau Island has been bringing light and shadow to the public for 66 years until it closed in 1997. Cheung Chau Theater has been waiting for 26 years. A large area of ​​the roof in the center of the auditorium has collapsed, and the roots of old trees have grown higher than the building.
