Wattang Bubbing Workshop

Rubbing is widely used to replicate various reliefs from different cultural eras; to duplicate stone carving patterns, especially those from ancient China and other Asian cultures; to reproduce monumental brass carvings in medieval churches; to copy tombstones from before the founding of the United States; and even used in Japan to copy fish.

During the activity, participants will experience tile rubbing, and the instructor will explain the tile culture of different dynasties, recognizing the development and changes of tile patterns, and understanding the historical and artistic value of stone carvings to China.
