Wishing Wall

There is an ancient tree in the The CCCCC Cinema that has stood for more than a hundred years. It has witnessed the completion, closure, revitalization and rebirth of the Cheung Chau Theatre, and there is a romantic and touching love story behind it.

There is a story from Cheung Chau Fishing Village: There was once a pair of childhood sweethearts who each buried a seed in the soil when they were young. They irrigated the seeds carefully every day, and the seeds sprouted and grew into saplings.

Later, the man grew up and went to sea with his family, while the woman stayed in the village. The man promised the woman that he would get married with her after making money. After that, no matter whether the weather was good or bad, the woman never forgot to irrigate the saplings. Many years later, the two saplings grew into big trees. After being beaten by wind and rain, the roots of the two trees actually intertwined with each other and became one body. Tree. At the end of the story, the man returns to fulfill his promise and grow old with the woman.

Today, you can come and see these two trees that sprouted and grew up at the same time, intertwining with each other.

The CCCCC Cinema has specially set up a "Wishing Wall" under the century-old couplet tree. Three types of "Cheung Chau Wishes" have also been prepared on site. Visitors will be able to hang their wishes on the racks and pray for their wishes to come true.
