Face Painting

Peking Opera is the quintessential of our country’s culture. By promoting traditional Chinese culture, participants are able to comprehend the quintessence of China's long history. At the same time, Chinese traditional culture can be explored through facial makeup painting. Using DIY materials such as paper masks, paints, etc., we explained to the children how Peking Opera facial makeup is divided into four categories: "raw, dan, clean, and ugly". Unlike facial makeup in opera which generally refers to facial makeup with clean corners, facial painting in opera is more complex, with heavy applications of oil paint. During the workshop, participants learn the art of facial painting, gain an understanding of traditional cultural knowledge, and feel more proud of their homeland. Duration: 1 Hour
